NAHB-Produced Programs on the DIY Network

The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows for consumers on the DIY network. The following is the latest lineup:

"Rock Solid" on DIY

Episode: "Thin Stone Fireplace"

• Nov. 14, 3:30 p.m. EST

Expert stone masons and hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns travel to Oklahoma to build an outdoor stone fireplace using a unique do-it-yourself kit that turns a challenging undertaking into a trouble-free weekend project. They start with a concrete patio as the base and build the fireplace using a kit with numbered pieces made from a secret lightweight concrete mixture that won't crack under extreme heat. Dean and Derek set the modular sections with mortar and then line the firebox with fire brick. When the kit is complete, they cover the fireplace unit with natural veneer stone and top it off with a copper chimney cap.

"Indoors Out" on DIY

Episode: "Outdoor Kitchen"

• Nov. 12 5:00 p.m. EST

Ellie and Shawn have a small, cramped kitchen, so hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns help move the family's kitchen time outside where they have a perfect spot to expand their tiny kitchen. With 42 tons of dirt, Dean and Derek level off a hill, add two large patios, four shade trees and one cool kitchen unit complete with a copper pizza oven and copper-colored concrete countertops.
