Electrical Contractors Can Get Schneider Electric E-Training

Schneider Electric announced last month that it is expanding its eLearning Web site for electrical contractors with a new educational module on energy efficiency.
The module provides information on a wide variety of energy-saving strategies for residential, commercial and industrial installations, enabling contractors to provide greater value to their customers in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
“High energy prices are impacting just about every company’s bottom line and every home owner’s budget,” said Melissa Golden, manager of Schneider Electric’s Electrical Contractor segment. “With the full range of energy management solutions from Schneider Electric profiled in the new Energy Efficiency eLearning education module, electrical contractors can quickly become the expert energy solutions provider in their area and tap into the revenue opportunities of this expanding market.”
The module provides electrical contractors detailed solutions for maximizing energy efficiency — such as dimmers, timers and occupancy sensors that can yield savings of 30% to 40%.
Other topics include power monitoring and submetering; the keys to understanding how energy is used and how it can be better managed; and power factor correction and variable speed drives for HVAC motors.
The module also includes recommended actions and selling techniques, with particular focus on passive and active energy efficiency measures.
Passive measures include such basics as replacing inefficient devices and adding insulation, while active measures include optimization through automation and regulation of systems like lighting, HVAC and motor control.
The topics are reviewed at the conclusion of each module with a short quiz. When an incorrect answer is selected, the training segment pertaining to the question is automatically reviewed.
