2022 has proved that there is no limit at all when it comes to the beauty and price of hypercars. The difference between these cars and the most expensive luxury cars is that luxury cars still have similarities with their less expensive counterparts. Whereas a hypercar sets themselves apart from all the other cars and are beginning to bridge the gap between a car and a work of art.

When someone says the phrase; high-end hypercars, companies and brands such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Koenigsegg and Pagani and others should come to mind. This is because these companies have managed to secure their spots at the top of the game when it comes to the production of the fastest, rarest and most expensive hypercars.

This Rolls-Royce Boat Tail was debuted at Italy’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este late in the year 2021 to show off its 6.75-litre twin-turbo v12 engine, producing 536 horsepower. Rolls-Royce only produced three units of this model, one going to the famous rapper Jay-Z, another to a wealthy Chinese business man and another to who Rolls-Royce says is “a patron whose family business has grown from his father’s origins in the pearling industry”.

The design of this car is inspired by everything nautical and is part of what Rolls-Royce calls their Coachbuilds. This design features elements of a J-Class and the original 1932 boat tails. Another clear nautical feature of this car is the wrap-around windscreen design, however, there are so many more.

The name “Zonda HP Barchetta” because that is what they believed the car resembled, a ‘little boat’. The whole body of the car is made to be ultralight by using carbon fibre throughout the whole frame. This helps the vehicle achieve speeds of 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 355km/h.

The Zonda HP Barchetta is also one of the cars that you won’t be able to buy because there were only three of these specific versions of the Zonda made.

4. Rolls-Royce Sweptail – $13 Million

Rolls-Royce Sweptail

This car once held the title of the most expensive car for a short period of time and wasn’t planned to be produced by Rolls-Royce. It was instead a request in 2013 by a super-yacht and aircraft specialist.

The design of the Sweptail does an excellent job in capturing modern luxury while still having a hint of 1920s and ‘30s glamour. They have managed to do this by still using the classis Rolls-Royce silhouette but then combining it with the futuristic, innovative technology. The one thing that is still unknown about this car is who owns it. It truly is one of a kind.

5. Bugatti Centodieci – $9 Million

Bugatti Centodieci

Only ten of these cars will be sold, making it even more exclusive. Each one of these 10 cars have already found a buyer, among them is the football star Christiano Ronaldo, despite its expensive price.

These Bugatti Centodiecis were made in celebration of the Bugatti brand’s 110th birthday and by doing so Bugatti has sought to give everything possible to this car to make it memorable. With its 1578-hp quad-turbo W-16 engine Bugatti hasn’t disappointed in creating the fastest accelerating Bugatti on the road currently.

The Centodieci tries to pay homage to the EB110 which was a supercar introduced in the early ‘90s, which didn’t quite perform as they hoped. However, this car makes up for that by combining luxury as well as performance flawlessly. Bugatti has claimed that the Centodieci has a time of 2.4 seconds when accelerating from 0 to 100km/h. Although the top speed of this car, 379km/h, is distinctively lower than that of the Chiron it makes up for it in its modern aesthetic.

6. Mercedes-Maybach Exelero – $8 Million

One of the most notable features of the exterior is the long tail which hides its twin-turbo v12 engine, producing 840 horsepower. Although no performance specs were mentioned it is rumored to have a time of 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds and a top speed of 354 km/h given the other performance levels of other Huayra models.

Although Bugatti is very well known for being able to produce incredible speeds in a straight line this car, according to Bugatti themselves, is supposed to be the most agile and dynamic car that they’ve ever produced. They haven’t sacrificed any of the power though with its 8L W16, quad-turbo, engine producing 1500hp. Koenigsegg did not spare a single penny when it comes to this car’s futuristic advancements. Some of the features that makes this car so expensive is the diamond weave carbon fiber finish, its one-of-a-kind double carbon rear wing, its inconel exhaust system and finally its ceramic brakes with ABS and tire monitoring system.

All of this is possible with the help of its magnificent 8L w16 engine producing 1577 horsepower. Even though it’s insane top speed the Bugatti doesn’t sacrifice any of its accelerating as it accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 2.4 seconds.

13. Pagani Huayra BC Roadster – $3.5 Million
