New Conference Empowers HBAs to Climb Higher
As the housing downturn becomes more complex, the needs of NAHB’s members are evolving quickly. Local HBA staff and volunteer leadership face increasing challenges, making their partnership with the National Association of Home Builders more imperative than ever.  That’s why the National Conference on Membership, the Leadership Training Conference and the State and Local Government Affairs Conference have united this year as the NAHB Summit on Association Excellence.

“The challenges of today’s housing industry are forcing our local association staff and leaders to take on new roles and responsibilities,” said Rusty Deiss, Executive Director, NAHB Membership Marketing & Retention.  “Combining these conferences into one Summit allows them to get all the training and information they need—from recruitment drives and committee management to retention and environmental issues—under one roof. That’s especially important when we need to stretch each dollar further than ever.”

The Summit will deliver practical, focused curriculum and events to HBA staff and volunteer leadership, empowering them to successfully lead and manage in today’s economy. The three-day Summit will emphasize:

  • Recruiting and retaining HBA membership and providing superior member services
  • Leading an organization in difficult times
  • Perfecting government affairs messaging and programming

Intensive half-day sessions, roundtables and dynamic general sessions will build collaboration, inspiration and applicable ideas.

Combining the three previous HBA conferences creates a better financial value for attendees, and the comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of association needs. This concentrated format will give HBA staff and volunteer leadership concrete, practical ideas and strategies that they can take back to their associations and apply right away.
