The State & Local Issues Fund provides financial assistance to state and local associations that are handling legislative, regulatory, or ballot issues that have national significance.
Three award requests were granted, including:
- Oregon Home Builders Association for funding to create a model online training program and video based on educational guidelines developed and approved by the EPA.
- Texas Association of Builders for funding legislative and regulatory battles to protect private property rights and the ability to implement development projects in areas around military bases.
- Spokane (WA) Home Builders Association for a campaign to fight ballot amendment which would bring arduous regulation in environmental, development and construction-specific labor issues.
The State & Local Government Affairts Committee reviews State & Local Issues Fund applications three times a year in conjunction with scheduled meetings of the NAHB Board of Directors.
The deadline for applications for the upcoming Board meeting in Chicago is August 1.
