NAHB promotes Green Building Standards Among Local Associations
NAHB has been working with several state and local associations on climate change and green building initiatives in an effort to help local elected leaders better understand NAHB’s Green Building Guidelines and the ANSI standards certification process, currently under way. This outreach focuses on pushing local leaders to reach out to local HBA’s in an effort to adopt flexible, voluntary, incentive-based, green building programs.
In the last month alone, NAHB has participated in the National Association of Counties First Annual Climate Change Summit in Washington, D.C., worked closely with the National Governors Association on how home builders can help with this years initiative Securing a Clean Energy Future, talked with the National Association of Local Environmental Professionals on the merits of mainstream green building and coordinated with the US Conference of Mayors in their upcoming Climate Change Summit in Seattle.
