State and Local Associations Recognized by the Executive Officers Council
The 2005 Executive Officers Council Association Excellence Awards were presented to nearly 100 winners at the 2006 EOC Seminar held in August at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The Association Excellence Awards is an annual program designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of state and local HBAs and executive officers in the field of association management.  In an effort to offer opportunities to all HBAs, the AEA program offers a wide array of categories, including Best Governmental Affairs Lobbying Program Administered and Best Political Action Program Administered. The winning entries in these categories included a case study on impact fees, a housing summit among the builders, realtors, and local officials, and fall protection legislation. If you are interested in viewing any of these entries, they are available through the EOCs Idea Loan file. Please contact the EOC at 800-368-5242 x8176.

"Winning an Association Excellence Award is truly a great honor," said Sam Anderson, president of the Executive Officers Council and executive officer of the MBA of King & Snohomish Counties.  "Each award recognizes the outstanding effort, commitment, and achievement an executive officer and the association membership made to further the value of involvement in the association."

The council's membership consists of the staff executives who manage the more than 800 state and local home builders associations that comprise the National Association of Home Builders.  This year, there were more than 300 entries from associations all over the country.
