Deadline for Legal Action Fund Applications Is Coming Up
NAHB’s Legal Action Fund, with oversight by the Legal Action Committee, is a service designed to help defray litigation costs of builders, developers and state/local associations who are involved in cases promoting housing.  The Legal Action Committee hears applications for funding at each of the three board meetings.  Issues brought before the Committee for review often include growth controls, exclusionary zoning, impact fees, takings, environmental compliance, fair housing concerns, contract disputes, and professional liability.

The deadline for Legal Action Fund applications for the Spring Board Meeting in Washington, D.C., will be March 27, 2006.  Members and HBA staff may download applications and guidelines from the members-only pages of www.nahb.org/legalaffairs.  For more information on these specific grants, e-mail Mary Lynn Pickel in NAHB’s Legal Services department, or call her at 800-368-5242 x8485.  For information on submitting an application to the Fund, e-mail Felicia Watson also in NAHB’s Legal Services department, or call her at 800-368-5242 x8229.
