Coming soon: Redesigned & Refocused Home Technology Alliance Update

We knew the newsletter had greater potential given the wide range of knowledge and experience in our membership. Changes to the newsletter are more than cosmetic with a new layout to make it easier to find the information you want and need.

On behalf of the Home Technology Alliance (HTA) and its leaders, I’m pleased to present you the redesigned and refocused HTA Update e-newsletter. We’ve been proud of the monthly effort to keep you updated about the Alliance’s efforts and how home technology is affecting the home building industry. However, we knew the newsletter had greater potential given the wide range of knowledge and experience in our membership.

Changes to the newsletter are more than cosmetic. They also include a new layout making it easier to find the information you want and need. As we tracked the readership’s reactions and use of the newsletter, we identified several opportunities to refine the product and increase its utility.  Each issue and its sections will focus on one specific topic. Our plan for the 2010 publication year is to cover the following areas:

  • Green – Q1 2010
  • Retro-fitting/remodeling – Q2 2010
  • Universal design/aging in place – Q3 2010
  • Home technology and Profitability – Q4 2010

The newsletter content will be more solution based; that is, each section will not only highlight some aspect of home technology in the home-building process but will offer practicable advice you can being using immediately.

One aspect of the newsletter hasn’t changed; in fact, we’re relying on it even more: YOU. The HTA leadership and staff need your input to make the newsletter a success. We need to hear from you about what we’re doing right, what we can improve, and what you want to read. The newsletter is as much a product of your interests and needs as it is of member and staff’s efforts.

I encourage you to contact the HTA staff with your thoughts. Agustín Cruz, executive director, Business Management Department, may be reached at 800-368-5242 x8472 and by Email at acruz@nahb.com.

Regards, and happy reading,

Erik Anderson, CGA, CGP

Chair, HTA Marketing/Communications Workgroup
