  CEDIA Member Highlight: Ambleside Logic

Designing for multiple different lifestyles and personalities is a technique CEDIA  members are experts with. The wife and husband in this household had very different expectations. He’s interested in state-of-the-art technology: high-definition video distribution, secure, wireless access throughout (including outside, by the pool), and energy management. She’s focused on user experience, streamlining family life and ensuring that their young children can control what they need to without disrupting the rest of the house. Ambleside Logic integrated an extensive system in this 13,000-square-foot estate that was flexible, easy to use and energy efficient. A plasma in the master bedroom is stored in a vaulted ceiling, rotates down and swivels, and can be viewed from the bed, chaise or bathroom.

A Crestron control system is distributed across five processors, 90 keypads, 12 hand-held remotes and 18 touchpanels. Keypads control 500+ fixtures in the home and grounds including lights, shades, drapes and windows. Of course, the children have limited control over the system, such as maximum volume levels, lighting scenes and pre-sets for turning on parentally approved content.
