CEDIA Member Highlight: Audio One Sound and Video, Inc.
Audio One Sound & Video took the challenge of creating an integrated system in this massive 30,000-square-foot home. Through collaboration of all craftsmen involved, this project is a perfect example of why it is necessary for proper coordination and planning among all groups involved in the design-build process. The project included almost 400 circuits of lighting, 16 CCTV cameras, 29 zones of distributed video, 40 zones of distributed audio, two front projectors, 22 plasma and LCD monitors, a movie theater, and several audio/video systems, including one in the family’s private bowling alley. Audio One Sound & Video provided seamless integration of the two-lane bowling alley’s sound and lighting that also has 12 speakers and two subwoofers, a high-end front projector, and a screen in a mural to depict a drive-in movie theater.
A Crestron control system processor and a network poll accelerator drive 1,800 watts of power at 24-volts throughout the house, centrally located and monitored via Internet. Crestron touchpanels and waterproof remotes around the pool provide functions such as fountains, water features and lighting. Three satellite TV systems, HD Cable TV and HD off-air system provide non-stop viewing of programs in just about any room in the house.
Serious movie watching takes place in the dedicated theater equipped with a Runco projector and Stewart screen and 7.1 surround sound. A centrally located movie server with five terabytes of movies keep the family “home” most of the time, and is just one example of how technology can tame the biggest of beasts.
This project won CEDIA’s 2007 Best Integrated Home – Gold Technical Design $1,000,001 – 3,000,000-plus
Equipment from the following manufacturers was used in this project:
