NAHB Offering Online Classes on How to Boost Business Using Social Media

NAHB members can now take a series of on-demand, online classes to learn how to effectively use social media to boost their productivity and increase their company’s bottom line.

NAHB’s new UGotClass program — created in partnership with the Learning Resources Network — offers classes such as “Marketing Using Social Media,” “Facebook for Business,” “YouTube for Business,” “Mobile Marketing,” “Creating Cell Phone Apps for Your Business” and other social media-related courses that members can take at their convenience and on their own schedule.

Several series of classes lead to a certificate in the Social Media of Business.

“In addition to being user-friendly, the UGotClass platform provides students with access to content that is accommodating to all learning styles,” said Andrea Raggambi, director of NAHB Distribution Services.

“You can engage on your own time and schedule and the instructors regularly post and respond to student assignments and questions in the discussion area, creating a feeling of real-time learning,” she said. “Instructors also will email students during the course to keep them on track, engaged and excited about upcoming content.”

Once participants register for a course, they can use their email addresses and passwords to access an online classroom and listen to lectures, view slides and take optional quizzes to determine what they have learned.

Classes in the Social Media of Business certification series began last week and will conclude on Dec. 2. Other classes required for the certification will conclude in March.
