Call for Speakers Issued for 2012 Green Building Conference in Nashville

Housing industry professionals are being encouraged to submit speaker proposals for education sessions on a variety of green building topics at NAHB’s 2012 National Green Building Conference, which will be held on April 29-May 1 in Nashville, Tenn.

Celebrating its 14th year, the upcoming conference is raising the bar on its educational content, and will feature primarily advanced level, cutting-edge green building education sessions during the show.

Presenters can expect to talk to builders, remodelers, land developers, engineers, architects, planners, public officials, environmental advocates and product manufacturers.

The National Green Building Conference Working Group is seeking proposals for sessions on a wide range of green building topics, including:

  • Design
  • Finance and appraisals
  • Indoor air quality
  • Low-impact development
  • Resource efficiency
  • Social media
  • Energy
  • Home owner education
  • Liability
  • Sales and marketing
  • Water conservation

The group is looking for proposals that target different project types — including single-family, remodeling and multifamily construction and development.

Sessions can be either 60 or 75 minutes long. Slide presentations can be submitted after the proposal is accepted.

To submit a proposal, follow this link to NAHB’s Integrated Speaker Education System: ISES.

All submissions must be made online and filled out completely.

Prospective speakers should describe their proficiency with industry professionals in areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, waste management, design and site development. All proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to green building, timeliness of the topic, practical application and speaker qualifications.

Proposals without specific learning outcomes will not be considered, and seminar proposals that promote individual products or services also will not be considered.

Submissions for new programs must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on Sept. 14.
