Aug. 10: Webinar Examines Cutting-edge Universal Design Products for Every Room

With manufacturers creating a diverse range of products to make homes and communities more livable for people of all ages, participants in the webinar “Reimagining Universal Design 3 — UD Product Showcase” will learn about the innovative products featured on the NAHB 50+ Housing Council's Universal Design Product Tour at the 2011 International Builders' Show and other leading industry trade shows.

Presented by NAHB’s 50+ Housing Council and sponsored by MASCO Cabinetry, the webinar will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

In addition, a nationally recognized universal design consultant will discuss cutting-edge products for the kitchen, bath and every other room of the house.

Participants will:

  • Learn how products and appliances can enhance universal design within a home and make it more livable

  • Receive an overview of emerging trends in product design that will improve quality of life and meet consumers' lifestyle needs and desires

  • Learn about products from the NAHB 50+ Housing Council's Universal Design Product Tour at the 2011 International Builders' Show, kitchen and bath appliances and fixtures, elevators, lighting, home technology and more

Panelists include Mary Jo Peterson, CKD, CBD, CAPS, CAASH, Mary Jo Peterson, Inc.; Sarah Reep, CAPS, Masco Cabinetry; Jayme Neumann, Whirlpool Corporation; and Christopher Stigliano, Lowes Companies, Inc.

The webinar is the third in a three-part series on universal design. The other webinars will be held on July 27 and Aug. 3.

Participants can earn one hour of continuing education credit toward their designations.
