Mike Holmes, host of “Holmes on Homes” and “Holmes Inspection” on HGTV, and social media expert Amber MacArthur will be the keynote speakers at the National Green Building Conference and Expo in Salt Lake City.
Holmes is the keynote speaker for the opening session on May 2 at 9:00 a.m. at the Salt Palace Convention Center, where the conference is taking place.
Presenting a keynote address for the general session at 10:30 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, May 3, the final day of the conference, Amber MacArthur will discuss with builders and remodelers how they can make better use of social media to sell their products and services.

In his television programs, Holmes advises home owners around the world on how to manage renovations, home repairs and maintenance. A contractor who knows the importance of resourcefulness and craftsmanship, his experience in new-home construction and sustainable building has garnered him a growing base of fans.
“We’re pleased that Mike Holmes will be the keynote speaker for the conference,” Calvert said. “He has such a passion for high performance green homes, and he really connects with people with his message about the potential of green building.”
In 2006, Holmes was recognized in Canada’s House of Commons for his support for improved building standards and skilled trades.
That same year, he also launched a charitable foundation in Canada to support the training of youths in the skilled trades through apprenticeships and scholarships.

In addition, Holmes and his crew built a remarkable sustainable and hurricane-resistant house in New Orleans as part of Brad Pitt's "Make It Right NOLA" project.
