In the upcoming webinar, “Incentivizing Green: How Your State Can Do It,” attendees will learn how they can encourage their states to implement green building incentive programs — and boost sales — similar to the Delaware program established earlier this year that built upon buyer interest generated by the federal home buyer tax credit.
Members and staff of the Home Builders Association of Delaware will describe how they worked with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control to establish "Delaware Green for Green," a program that offers cash incentives of $3,000 to $6,000 to home buyers for building green homes certified by the NAHB Research Center to the ANSI-approved National Green Building Standard.
The webinar — the final one in NAHB’s Building Conversations series — will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 11.
The fee for the webinar is $24.95 for NAHB members and $34.95 for non-members.
The speakers will provide a step-by-step description of how the program was created, along with tips on how to create successful public-private partnerships to create such programs.
The panelists includes Jennifer Casey, executive vice president, HBA of Delaware; Howard Fortunato, CGP, president of the Delaware HBA’s Green Building Council and an accredited verifier with the Research Center; and Donald H. Yoos, Jr., CGP, director of construction, J.S. Hovnanian & Sons.
