Endowment's Bea and Dale Stuard Scholarship Fund Announces 14 Winners

The National Housing Endowment, the philanthropic arm of NAHB, recently announced 14 winners of the Dale and Bea Stuard National Housing Endowment Educational Fund Scholarship for the upcoming school year.

Established in 2000 and administered by members of the Building Industry Association of Orange County in California, the fund provides financial assistance to qualified students and trainees in housing-related programs, with special emphasis given to students and programs in California and to students who, due to family or financial circumstances, are unlikely to have educational opportunities beyond high school or equivalent vocational training.

Since this program's inception, more than $150,000 in scholarships has been awarded.

This year’s scholarship winners were collectively awarded $25,000. They include:

  • Jillian Gonzalez
  • Ryan Hummel
  • Anastasia Mylonas
  • Jesse Phillips
  • Rodolfo Rodriguez
  • Fernando Romero
  • Dylan Sheld
  • Garet Sheld
  • Ivan Terrones
  • Shucora Walker
  • Leny Zarate

“Bea and I are pleased to be able to help these students further their education and are confident that they will make significant contributions to the field of residential construction,” said Dale Stuard, past chairman of the endowment and 1988 NAHB president. “We are proud to take part in the National Housing Endowment’s efforts to increase the number of professionals entering the residential construction industry.”

Scholarship applications were graded and ranked accordingly based on merit, economic need and student potential.

The endowment awards more than $300,000 in scholarships each year to students pursuing careers in residential construction and related fields.
