NAHB-Produced Programs on the DIY Network

The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows for consumers on the DIY network. The following is the latest lineup:

"Indoors Out" on DIY

Episode: "Great Plains Party Room"

• April 18, 2:00 p.m. EDT/PDT

Hosts and cousins Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns head to the Great Plains to create a rustic, outdoor party space. New parents Doug and Brooke Brant have their hands full with their first child, a brand new home and a group of friends about the size of their hometown's population. Since Doug and Brooke prefer to party outside in their prairie-viewing backyard, Dean and Derek help create an Okie-themed, barbeque-throwing, "down-home"-style party room. For the room's foundations, the cousins show off their masonry muscle by creating a gorgeous flagstone patio, while up top they build a red cedar pergola. To beef up the room's barbequing credentials they install a large kitchen island with a gas grill, side burner, refrigerator and bar seating. On the other side of the patio, Dean and Derek add another guest-gathering spot, a propane-fueled fire pit and seating area.

Episode: "Dockside Lobster Bar"

• April 18, 2:00 p.m. EDT/PDT

Jaci and Mike Hogan have a cozy — though small — house in Falmouth, Mass., that's great for intimate gatherings and quiet nights. But there's not enough space to entertain friends or business associates. And because they both love the ocean and enjoy steamed cherry stones and lobsters, their dream room has always been a dockside lobster bar. Enter hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns who create the ultimate lobster bar that looks and feels like it's right on the dock. They demolish the Hogans' old wooden deck and replace it with top-of-the-line composite decking. For a dockside feel, they add pylons in one corner, install rope railings all around and then build a shiplap shower to wash away sea salt. In the center of it all, they turn a small boat into a cooking and seating island complete with raw bar and keg area.
