McGougan Named 2010 Housing Credit Certified Professional
 Sandra McGougan, of the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) in Oklahoma City, has been named NAHB’s 2010 Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) of the Year.
The award honors individuals who have excelled in the management of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit properties and have earned the association’s HCCP educational designation indicating expertise in the complex federal property management program.
“Dedication and drive is just as important as the knowledge it takes to be a tax credit specialist,” said Darcy Green, OHFA’s housing development program supervisor. “Nominating Sandra McGougan for the 2010 HCCP of the Year is not only about her achievements, but also showcasing what it takes to succeed in this industry.”
McGougan has been a compliance specialist with OHFA since June of 2001, and an HCCP since October of that same year.
Last year, McGougan’s performance rose above the rest after two of the three compliance specialists for OHFA left the company. With 20,000 units and nearly 400 properties to monitor, she took the lead, helping to hire two new specialists and train them so that OHFA could meet all of its deadlines for 2009 and conduct two tax credit compliance workshops.
McGougan has been called upon to speak at various national conferences and educational panels to share her expertise and experience within the industry.
McGougan was honored as the 2010 HCCP of the Year at the 2010 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas in January.
