Dave Barry | Dave Barry, Pulitzer Prize-winning humor columnist, will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas on Jan. 19-22.
Barry has been a syndicated columnist for 25 years and his columns have appeared in more than 500 newspapers across the country and abroad. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1988 and, according to his official biography, “Many people are still trying to figure out how this happened.”
Barry has also written 30 books, although, also according to his biography, “virtually none of them contain useful information.” Two of his books were used as the basis for the CBS TV sitcom, "Dave's World," which aired in the late 1990s.
Born in Armonk, N.Y., he is proud to have been elected Class Clown by the Pleasantville High School class of 1965.
Barry lives in Miami with his wife, a sportswriter. He has a son and a daughter, neither of whom thinks he's funny.
Barry will kick off the Builders’ Show at the IBS Grand Opening Ceremonies on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
