Ply Gem Exhibiting Premium Insulated Windows and Siding
Located in Booth C3343 at the 2010 International Builders’ Show, Ply Gem Industries, a leading manufacturer of window and door products for residential construction, will be introducing its Ply Gem Windows Premium 1000 Series for the new construction and replacement window markets in the Western U.S and also featuring insulated siding.
The windows series includes double hung, sliding, fixed and geometric shapes and the 960 Hinged Patio Door. Standard for all is patented R-Core insulation in the frame.
For added energy efficiency and durability, an Energy Package option upgrade includes the addition of R-Core in the sash and Interforce II fiberglass reinforcement in the meeting rails of double hung and sliding windows.
Ply Gem’s Windows Premium 1000 Series also features a flush mount lock system for a sleek, low profile. The keeper design on all double hung and sliding windows provides stronger resistance to forced entry for increased security.
Multiple product styles within the Ply Gem Windows Premium 1000 Series meet or exceed the .30 U-Factor/.30 SHGC requirements for the $1,500 energy tax credit allowed under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
To qualify for the credit, consumers can choose the Ply Gem Windows HP (Low-E/argon) or HP-SC (Solar Cooling Low-E/argon) glass package, and either the standard Warm Edge Spacer System or the new optional Warm Edge Plus spacer system, which uses a less conductive material to lower the U-Factor.
The credit is available for home owner replacement window product purchases through next year.
Ply Gem windows in the Premium 1000 Series can be used by builders to earn points toward certification under NAHB’s National Green Building Program.
Insulated Siding
NAPCO by Ply Gem American Essence Insulated Siding allows builders to be environmentally responsible while ensuring long lasting protection of the home.
Backed by a closed-cell expanded polystyrene foam insulation, the siding blankets the exterior walls of the home with an extra layer of insulation. This puts insulation over wall studs, decreasing thermal transfer, making the home more comfortable and increasing the wall system’s R-value by up to 25%.
American Essence can help lower utility bills and can be used to contribute toward meeting the National Green Building Standard.
Like all vinyl siding, American Essence is easy to maintain, eliminating the need to scrape, paint or replace rotten cladding boards. The siding is available in 14 design-inspired colors formulated for consistent color and finish, as well as in four Premium Signature Series colors with extra UV and sun protection for a fade-resistant finish.
