NAHB-Produced Programs on the DIY Network
The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows for consumers on the DIY network. The following is the latest lineup:
"Rock Solid" on DIY
Episode: "Concrete Bistro Table and Stools"
Decorative concrete isn't just for kitchen countertops anymore. These days you can make planters, bistro tables and even bathtubs with decorative concrete. Expert stone masons and hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns travel to San Francisco to Buddy Rhodes' studio to try their hand at building a concrete bistro table and colorful stools. It's a step-by-step process designed for the do-it-yourselfer featuring a special concrete blend and reusable fiberglass molds. The blend is so workable, Dean and Derek apply it vertically to molds. After a special setting process, they pop open the molds and voila! They have original concrete creations that can be finished in an array of colors and styles.
"Indoors Out" on DIY
Episode: "Winter Parlor"
Hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns brave the cold Washington, D.C., weather to create a year-round outdoor room. Using radiant floor heat, heating lamps and a hip design, they transform a bland back deck and brick yard into a stylish winterized parlor for three 20-something professionals, Dana, Mark and Chris who use their home to entertain clients for their family's chocolate business. Dean and Derek redesign the deck, add a snow melting heating system below new stone pavers and furnish it with style and flair.
