Enter the 2010 National Sales and Marketing Awards

Enter your best in new home sales, marketing and design for the 2010 The Nationals — the National Sales and Marketing Awards, the largest and most prestigious competition for new-home sales and marketing professionals and communities.

Sponsored by NAHB’s National Sales and Marketing Council, The Nationals honor the best in architectural achievement, product and community design, advertising and promotion, interior merchandising, Web site design, individual and team sales achievement and more.

The awards — which recognize innovation and excellence in 53 categories — are open to individual sales and marketing professionals, home builders, associates and sales and marketing councils.

“The role of sales and marketing is even more critical, particularly in this challenging housing market,” said Sheri Jackson, MIRM, of Fonville Morisey & Barefoot, a Raleigh, N.C.-based new home sales and marketing firm, and chair of the 2010 Nationals. “The awards celebrate the hard work and achievements of the best new home sales and marketing professionals in our industry, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”

New residential projects with homes available for sale between Sept. 1, 2008 and Sept. 1, 2009, along with individual categories and local sales and marketing council categories covering the same time period, are eligible to enter.

New award categories for 2010 include:

  • Online Sales Counselor
  • Integrated Internet Marketing Campaigns — including Social Media
  • Strategic Sales Promotion
  • Outdoor Living Space
  • Model Home Makeover
  • Staging of a New Home
  • On The Boards Community

All entries, including fees and exhibits, are due by Oct. 2. Late entries will be accepted by Oct. 9, with an additional fee.

Tax Credit Web Site Looks at Opportunity of a Lifetime

Builders and other industry professionals can help spur home sales by referring prospective first-time home buyers to www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com. The NAHB Web site provides detailed information on the $8,000 federal tax credit for first-time home buyers included in the economic stimulus legislation signed into law by President Obama.

Consumers can use the Web site to find information on the tax credit – including a detailed question and answer section. It also includes information about other housing-related and small business measures in the legislation and a number of home-buying resources for consumers.

Spanish Version Also Available Online

A Spanish version of this increasingly popular Web site is also available to provide detailed information on the tax credit to Spanish-speaking first-time home buyers.

Industry professionals are encouraged to highlight either tax credit Web site when marketing to their potential first-time home buyer market.
