Builders Urged to Enlist the Public in ‘Revive Housing’ Push
Home builders can encourage their communities to help revive housing and the economy by urging Congress to extend and enhance the first-time home buyer tax credit.
Builders can enlist members of the public to support the “Revive Housing, Restore America” campaign by directing them to NAHB’s new consumer Web site. Located at www.ReviveHousingNow.com, this page tells consumers why stimulating housing will help restore the economy, how to contact their federal lawmakers and what to say when they do.
Meanwhile, NAHB members also have their own set of resources for the campaign, including materials to help them advocate on behalf of all four points of the recovery agenda — tax credit extension and improvement, action to resolve the AD&C credit crunch and appraisal problems, and extension of NOL carryback provisions.
NAHB’s grassroots campaign can be all the more powerful if builders get the word out about ReviveHousingNow.com to everyone they know.
