NAHB-Produced Programs on the DIY Network

The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows for consumers on the DIY network. The following is the latest lineup:

"Rock Solid" on DIY

Episode: "Round Stone Planting Wall"

• July 15, 5:00 p.m. EDT

Back on home ground in Cohasset, Mass., DIY's expert stone masons and hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns tackle a garden retaining wall that will be built using a mixture of round fieldstones. The garden wall will have a true New England-style dry stack look, so Dean and Derek select a mixture of stones that will ensure a beautiful finished project. They build the wall with an emphasis on ratio and tight, consistent joints — no easy feat when the stones range in size from basketballs to baseballs and have no flat edges. The end result is one that gardeners and backyard aficionados everywhere will be eager to call their own.

"Indoors Out" on DIY

Episode: "Wine Lover's Tasting Room"

• July 16, 5:30 p.m. EDT

Nick and Sara love to have their large family over for company, but hate to entertain in their small dining and living area. They've got plenty of space outside, but would like to keep their yard mostly green. DIY hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns create a perfect solution by turning unused outdoor space that is filled with pool filters into a gorgeous wine lovers' tasting room. They put in a small retaining wall, add gorgeous brick-hued pavers, build a custom bar with wine-loving accents and cover the entire area with a triangular pergola. When Dean and Derek are finished, Nick and Sara won't have a hard time getting the family to visit, they'll have a hard time getting them to leave.
