New NAHB Summit to Address Wide-Ranging HBA Needs
This fall, NAHB is launching a new three-day summit for home builders association staff and volunteer leadership that will focus on wide-ranging HBA needs, including growing HBA membership; leading an organization in difficult times; providing superior member services; and perfecting HBA government affairs messages and programming.
The upcoming NAHB Summit on Association Excellence combines the agendas and key topics that were formerly addressed during the National Conference on Membership, Leadership Training Conference and State and Local Government Affairs Conference and makes the summit much more convenient, cost-effective and comprehensive.
The NAHB summit will be held Nov. 5-7 at the Intercontinental Hotel New Orleans.
Online registration is now available.
“The challenges of today’s housing industry are forcing our local association staff and leaders to take on new roles and responsibilities,” said Rusty Deiss, executive director of NAHB’s Membership Marketing and Retention. “Combining these conferences into one summit allows them to get all the training and information they need — from recruitment drives and committee management to retention and environmental issues — under one roof. That’s especially important when we need to stretch each dollar farther than ever.”
The summit will feature intensive, half-day sessions on membership, leadership and government affairs, as well as roundtables and general sessions with nationally-known speakers that encourage collaboration and focus on applicable ideas.
“The summit addresses the key issues of association management: how to influence the decision to join; how to retain a high level of member interest and involvement; how to develop leadership and stewardship skills; and how to safeguard and improve the business climate of our industry through successful advocacy with our local, state and national elected officials,” said Joe Schneider, NAHB’s director of associate member programs.
Discounted registration is available for additional HBA staff members and volunteers who register with a full-price main registrant from the same HBA.
