BALA 25th Anniversary Gala Set for Jan. 19 at IBS
The Best in American Living Awards (BALA) honoring exceptional design will be presented during the 25th anniversary gala held from 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19 in the Margaux Ballroom at the Wynn Las Vegas.
Co-sponsored by Professional Builder magazine, Better Homes and Gardens and NAHB, BALA is the foremost residential design competition in the country and honors builders, architects, designers, developers, land planners and interior designers who produce homes that illustrate design quality and success in the marketplace and exemplify the best in American living.
Winners will be honored in 36 categories — from single-family attached and detached homes in a variety of sizes to rental developments and custom homes, plus categories for interior design, communities and neighborhoods, affordable housing, smart growth, urban infill and others.
BALA Judges Discuss Design Trends at Special Session
Six to 10 design trends emerge each year from the BALA competition and accompanying roundtable discussions held during the spring and fall NAHB board of directors meetings.
During a special session at IBS, judges of the 2008 BALA competition will discuss design tends that emerged from the 2008 competition and gleaned from the 2008 BALA Home of the Year.
“Design Stars: Winning Homes From BALA” will be on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 1:15-2:45 p.m. in North 262 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
