Award Winners to Discuss How Energy Sells in a Slow Market
Attendees at the International Builders’ Show will have the opportunity to hear from 2009 winners of the EnergyValue Housing Award (EVHA) at an “Energy Sells” educational session at 1:15-3:45 p.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
The EVHA is the nation’s preeminent energy efficiency award honoring builders who voluntarily incorporate energy efficiency into all aspects of new home construction.
Amber Wood, program manager of energy efficiency programs for the NAHB Research Center, will moderate the session. Michael C. Baechler, co-chair of the 2008 American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, will represent the Technology Planning & Deployment group of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Energy Science & Technology Directorate.
2009 EVHA finalist speakers will include:
- Scott Bergford of Scott Homes, Olympia, Wash., presenting “Stay the Course, Business Is Booming in this Troubled Economy”
- Arn McIntyre of McIntyre Builders, Rockford, Mich., talking about “Continuous Improvement — Building Better the Next Time”
- Carl Seville of Seville Consulting, Decatur, Ga., covering “Trade Contractor Management — Getting Subs Onboard With Energy Efficiency”
- Howard Feldman of Coastal Green Building Solutions, Hilton Head, S.C., discussing “Energy Efficiency Is Possible in Production Homes”
