Delmar Cengage Learning Cited for Service to Students

During NAHB’s fall board of directors meeting in San Diego, the NAHB Student Chapters Advisory Board unanimously selected Delmar Cengage Learning as the recipient of the 2008 NAHB Student Chapters Distinguished Service Award.
The annual award is given to individuals or companies in recognition of their efforts to promote NAHB Student Chapters and the residential construction industry.
Delmar Cengage Learning began its partnership with NAHB Student Chapters in 2003 as a sponsor of The Outstanding Educator Award, which each year recognizes the top educators from a four-year university and two-year college or secondary school and a junior faculty member.
Delmar Cengage has also served the Student Chapters’ advisory board as a corporate member.
In 2002, in partnership with HBI, Delmar began publishing the Residential Construction Academy (RCA) Series of textbooks and multimedia materials. The RCA Series has grown significantly, covering all of the major residential construction trades. Several school boards have mandated statewide adoption of the industry-approved curriculum.
Past winners of the Distinguished Service Award include Pulte Homes, NAHB Past President Bobby Rayburn, Centex Homes and the National Housing Endowment.
This year’s Distinguished Service Award and the Outstanding Educator Awards will be presented during the upcoming International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas at the NAHB Student Chapters Award Ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Caesars Palace.
