NAHB-Produced Programs on DIY, Fine Living and HGTV

The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows on DIY, Fine Living and HGTV for consumers. The following is the latest lineup:

"Rock Solid" on DIY

Episode: "Dry-Stack Fieldstone Wall With Granite Steps"

• March 12, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT
• March 13, 2:00 a.m. ET/PT
• March 15, 11:30 a.m. ET/PT

Home owner Johnny Zompanti has a problem. His nephew started a dry-stack stone wall in his backyard but never finished it. Stone masons Dean and Derek arrive to save the day and in the process demonstrate the proper way to install an old-fashioned-looking dry-stack wall using new palletized fieldstone. From the quarry to the job site, they provide insider tips on how to organize stone and build a solid wall that will last forever. They also incorporate three granite steps into the wall and demonstrate how to measure steps and cut the granite for proper installation.

"Assembly Required" on DIY

Episode: "Prefab Cabin"

• March 10, 10:30 p.m. ET/PT
• March 11, 2:30 a.m. ET/PT

In the rustic mountains of Beulah, Colo., Anne and Barring Coughlin want their own little cabin in the woods. So they go online, order a prefabricated cabin kit and hire some local framers to put it together. But they get off to a rocky start when the traditional construction crew discovers they are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle. Meanwhile, a young couple in Ventura, Calif., finding that the real estate market is too pricey, decides to build their own home — in one of their parents' backyards. Find out if seasoned framers and a couple of do-it-yourselfers can put together a "build-by-numbers" cabin kit on this edition of "Assembly Required."

"I Want That" on Fine Living

Episode: "Inflatable Home Theater"

• March 13, 10:00 a.m. ET/PT

An inflatable home theater enables home owners to re-create the ultimate drive-in movie experience in their own back yard. A growth chart that includes slots for photos as well as a ruler not only measures children's growth, it lets parents see how their kids grow. A low-maintenance aquarium offers 360-degree views.

Free NAHB Kit Gives Builders Back-to-Basics Tips to Navigate the Slowdown

What was once expected to be a relatively mild housing slump following three years of record new home construction and sales has given way to a significant downturn.

To help members navigate the uncharted waters of this slowdown, NAHB has compiled a comprehensive “Back to Basics” online toolkit — the best of the basics, the tried and true and the truly new. To access the toolkit, click here.

To access the “Back to Basics” toolkit, you must be an NAHB member and have a login to www.nahb.org. To create a login, go to www.nahb.org/login or click on the log-in button on the main menu bar.

For assistance, call the NAHB Member Service Center at 800-368-5242.
