Builders Meet Manufacturers at Builders' Show Reception
Attendees at the upcoming International Builders’ Show in Orlando will have an opportunity to network with leading builders and home building product manufacturers at the third annual networking reception sponsored by Builder Partnerships (BP).
More than 200 national representatives from manufacturers and suppliers, as well as builder members of Builder Partnerships, have been invited to the reception, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Rosen Plaza Hotel, which is located adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center.
One of The Shinn Group of companies, Builder Partnerships was formed two years ago with the goal of brining builders and manufacturers together to establish working partnerships. The company currently represents more than 65 builder members who constructed 20,000 housing units in 2007. Builder Partnerships provides builders with better rebates, coop advertising, training, seminars, roundtable discussions and more.
Builder Partnerships typically negotiates better rebates with manufacturers than builders are able to obtain on their own, and by clicking a box on the BP Web site, members have access to rebates from more than 50 manufacturers.
Through its membership with BP, Woodland Homes of Huntsville, Ala., met with Crane Building Products to evaluate siding and decking opportunities. The builder also met with a number of other manufacturers, including Electrolux, Timbertech and Price Pfister. “By meeting with the manufacturers, we have locked in pricing, better upgrades and reduced construction costs,” said Jeannie Samz of Woodland Homes.
Manufacturers also report benefiting from participation in the program. Sherwin-Williams, for example, was trying to gain the business of Premier Homes in Colorado Springs, Colo. for some time, but was unsuccessful until it joined Builder Partnerships. Sherwin Williams won over Premier Homes from a major competitor and was also invited to partner with the builder in a recent episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Sponsors of the Builder Partnerships reception in Orlando include: American Hometec, C.H.I. Overhead Doors, Crane Building Products, Progress Lighting, Simpad, The Shinn Group, Tyco Fire & Security and Viega.
