Pulte Honored for Green Homes in Las Vegas
The model homes at Pulte Homes' Timber Creek subdivision in northwest Las Vegas will be honored on Dec. 11 as the first homes to achieve certification by the Southern Nevada Green Building Partnership.
The homes meet the program’s requirements for resource-, energy- and water-efficiency and indoor environmental quality, all of which exceed government codes and industry standards for new-home construction.
A program of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, the partnership is based on the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines, with a green checklist modified to fit regional conditions.
The partnership administers an impartial, third-party inspection, verification and certification that the program requirements have been met in the design and construction of the home.
Timber Creek will include approximately 78 homes upon completion.
“One of our core beliefs at Pulte Homes is building science,” said Nat Hodgson, vice president of construction for Pulte Homes. “We can adopt new technologies that allow us to build a better home, for our consumers and for the environment. Our team at Pulte is incredibly excited to introduce the first-ever ‘green’ model homes to the Las Vegas Valley.”
Pulte Homes, including its Del Webb brand, has the largest home building volume in metropolitan Las Vegas. The company built and sold 4,519 new homes in 2006, according to Home Builders Research of Las Vegas.
