Enter ‘Building With Trees’ Competition

Conservation-minded builders and developers from around the country are invited to enter the 2008 Building With Trees Awards of Excellence recognition program.

Sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation in conjunction with NAHB, the program recognizes builders and developers who save trees during construction and land development, incorporate trees in their project design and utilize trees for energy savings, fighting climate change, recreational opportunities and educational purposes.

The deadline for entries is Feb. 28. The awards competition was created in 1998.

Residential, commercial, retail, industrial, public and mixed-use projects of all sizes are eligible to compete.

A jury of development industry and urban forestry professionals will judge the entries.

Winners will be announced at the 2008 National Green Building Conference in New Orleans from May 11-13.

Winners also will be showcased in Nation's Building News and NAHB’s quarterly Land Development magazine as well as at Arbor Day’s 2008 Partners in Community Forestry National Conference held in conjunction with the Home Depot Foundation.
