DuPont Launches Lightweight, Waterproof Roofliner

DuPont recently launched DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy®, a lightweight, high-performance, breathable roofing membrane that is scientifically engineered to help provide superior durability and protection against leaks compared to roofing felt.

Also five times lighter than felt, DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy® offers superior tear resistance, excellent water hold-out and six-month UV-resistance, compared to roofing felt.

"As an industry leader, we are dedicated to staying ahead of building trends by offering products that increase the ease of installation, reduce customer call backs and meet building codes," Thomas Schuler, vice president and general manager of DuPont Building Innovations, said. "DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy® gives builders and contractors an innovative solution for new roof installation as well as re-roofing applications."

DuPont’s new roofing underlayment is engineered for use with all types of roofing materials identified by ICC-ES AC188 — including asphalt shingles, clay, concrete, fiber cement, metal tiles, slates, wood shakes, standing seam metal sheets and corrugated metal roofing.

DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy® is also easier and more efficient to install. One roll of the roofliner replaces five rolls of 30-pound roofing felt.

DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy®, when installed properly, is backed by a 20-year product replacement residential warranty.

DuPont RoofLiner with Elvaloy® has been engineered and developed by DuPont, a member of the National Council of the Housing Industry — The Leading Suppliers of NAHB.
