NAHB Spokesperson Training Available at Spring Board

NAHB members attending the spring board meeting in Washington, D.C. from June 5 to 10 have an opportunity to participate in NAHB Spokesperson Training and learn how to improve their public communications skills.

More than 15,000 NAHB leaders have taken the training to learn how to effectively convey a message to the public through the news media and make public presentations.

Two seminars are being offered:

  • "Interview Skills" helps participants master strategies for broadcast and print interviews. The training includes message development.

  • "Presentation Skills" focuses on how to organze and deliver a speech and presentation with accompanying question and answer sessions.

The seminars are led by professional communication consultants, each with more than 30 years of experience training NAHB members on the issues that home builders, home builders association staff members and affiliate members face every day.

Each 7.5-hour seminar is limited to 12 participants. The seminars include instruction, skill-building exercises and on-camera practice interviews and presentations.

The registration fee is $475 for each one-day seminar. Registrations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, click here.

To reserve your space, e-mail Niki Clark in NAHB Public Affairs, or call her at 800-368-5242 x8061.
