Edward Lindner Receives Prestigious Whirlpool Award

In recognition of his leadership and contributions to the building industry and the community, Edward Lindner, director of Whirlpool’s North Pacific Division, received the corporation’s annual “Whirlpool Industry and Community Service Award.”

Actively involved in Habitat for Humanity for the past seven years, Lindner is a past board member of the Seattle/South King County chapter and currently sits on its fund-raising committee. Lindner participates with the chapter in several builds each year with his sales division and his family.

Lindner has helped promote green building initiatives in the marketplace as a past board member for the Seattle-King County Built Green Committee. Through his efforts, Whirlpool became the first major sponsor of this initiative and he has inspired many others to follow.

“With Ed’s daily commitment to his work, the building industry and, most importantly, his community, family and friends, he truly epitomizes this distinctive award,” said Butch Gaudette, Whirlpool’s director of trade relations.

Lindner’s caring spirit was demonstrated this past December when he ran alongside Leukemia and Lymphoma Society members in the Honolulu Marathon, a 21-mile race in honor of survivors of blood cancer and leukemia and patients who are suffering from the disease. He raised $15,000, the second largest fund collection in the country for the event.

A 17-year veteran of Whirlpool Corporation, Lindner began his career with the company as an account manager in 1990. During that time, he was twice recognized as Account Manager of the Year for the Western Region. Lindner spent the next three years as dishwasher merchandising manager for all brands before accepting his current position in 1999.

Lindner was also a member of a special task force that helped launch Whirlpool brand products in China.

Headquartered in Benton Harbor, Mich., Whirlpool is a member of the National Council of the Housing Industry — The Supplier 100 of NAHB.
