Pardee Homes Honored for Giving Back to the Community

The Pardee Homes team at the Revlon Run/Walk to fight cancer. Pardee Homes employees donate more than 2,000 hours a year while supporting various community organizations and health issue.

Pardee Homes
, a California and Las Vegas home builder, was honored by the National Housing Endowment — the philanthropic arm of the NAHB — for its support of charitable activities. The staff at Pardee Homes volunteers more than 2,000 hours to charitable programs and events every year.

“Pardee Homes employees are known for working together to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Mike McGee, president and CEO of Pardee Homes.

Pardee Homes was awarded the 2006 Honorable Mention National Housing Endowment Builder Achievement Award for Outstanding Community Service — which includes a $1,000 donation to the charity of its choice — during the 2007 International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla. earlier this year,

Pardee Homes is giving the donation to HomeAid America, which builds and renovates multi-unit homes for transitionally homeless people and families. Pardee Homes has supported the organization for more than a decade.

The NAHB-endowment builder achievement award, established in 2005, honors builder, developer and remodeler members of NAHB for their exceptional philanthropic endeavors.

“While Pardee Homes' causes vary by region, they have a common theme,” said Hal Struck, executive vice president and COO of Pardee Homes. “Company employees help the homeless, support schools and education, work with those who mentor youth, and raise funds and awareness for a variety of health issues.”

In addition to supporting HomeAid, Pardee Homes and its employees have helped raise money for the treatment of multiple sclerosis; partnered with The Shade Tree, a North Las Vegas homeless shelter for women with children; partnered with American Girl®; and donated $200,000 to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas to help build a new science center at an elementary school.

The Pardee Homes MS Challenge Walk team raised more than $45,000.

Pardee Homes raised more than $45,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society last year when eight of its employees participated in the Southern California MS Challenge Walk. Pardee Homes staff members have participated in this walk for the last three years.

Pardee Homes’ Nevada division has helped raise funds for The Shade Tree for the last 12 years by pledging and donating $500 from each home sold in its most popular communities.

Last year, Pardee Homes also partnered with and assisted American Girl® by helping build and auction four period-style playhouses. American Girl® encourages girls to become their very best so they can grow up to become women who make a difference.

“The National Housing Endowment is proud to honor the tremendous charity of Pardee Homes,” said Gary Garczynski, endowment chairman and 2002 NAHB president. “The enormous amount of charitable work that the staff participates in serves as a source of inspiration to our members and our industry.”

“This award highlights the often-overlooked support and leadership that home builders such as Pardee Homes contribute to community service endeavors,” he said.
