50+ Housing Symposium Features Three Housing Tours
Three housing tours showcasing different market segments of the 50+ housing industry — active adult communities, service-enriched communities and transit oriented development (TOD) — will be offered at the upcoming Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium 2007 in Denver.
The symposium will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center from May 30-June 1.
Each of the three community tours will be held Wednesday, May 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Active Adult/Lifestyle Bus Tour, Sponsored by Move.com
This is a tour of four active adult communities in the Denver area. Builders’ teams from each community will provide an overview of the development, marketing and sales processes of that community. The communities include:
- Heritage Todd Creek by Lennar Homes — a nine-model home park of ranch-style single-family, paired-patio and attached townhouses, along with a 32,000-square-foot golf course clubhouse
- Anthem Ranch, Del Webb’s first active adult community in Colorado — three series of single-family detached homes featuring nine different floor plans
- Vista Ridge by John Laing Homes — a golf-centered, master planned community featuring John Laing Homes’ newest detached, single-family patio home product
- Vallagio by Metropolitan Homes — European-styled homes including elegant golf villas, row town homes, flats and loft residences
- Service-Enriched Bus Tour
Denver organizations are offering new, luxurious communities to meet the desires and needs of this segment of the seniors housing market. This tour will feature five continuing care retirement communities, with a builder presentation at each.
- Transit-Oriented Development Housing Tour
The expanded Denver Light Rail system has brought new, higher-density housing and services near the stations along these rail lines. Attendees will ride Denver’s light rail to the new Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects and then walk the projects. Communities on the tour include:
- Promenade Lofts by East West Partners — the essence of “urban chic” with one- to four-bedroom lofts
- River Front Tower by East West Partners — luxurious, traditional condominium floor plans with the look and feel of larger homes in the suburbs or mountains
- The Glass House by East-West Partners — a 23-story glass and steel residential building with panoramic views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains
- The District at Southmoor Station by Pacific Properties — distinctive apartments and live-work units along with ground level restaurant, retail, offices and services
- Lincoln Square Lofts — maximizes the potential of a small site for transit-oriented development using a mid-rise solution
- The Alexan and Crest, developed by Trammel-Crow and purchased by a REIT (REEF) — high-value additions to the REEF apartment portfolio
- Vallagio — one of Denver's first new urban, transit-oriented developments, featuring a vibrant office/retail center, dedicated light rail stop with pedestrian bridge and attached residences
The cost for each tour is $95 per person and includes transportation and lunch. (Note: Tour fees are in addition to symposium registration fees.)
