CraftMaster Tall Doors Match Today’s High Ceilings

Exhibiting in Booth W1371 at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, CMI will be debuting new CraftMaster® interior doors designed to meet the growing demand for tall doors to match high ceilings in today’s new homes.

The Corvado™ two-panel, square-top plank interior door unveiled at last year’s show is now available in 6-foot-8-inch, 7-foot and 8-foot heights and in passage widths from 1-foot-6-inches to 3 feet.

To add dimension and custom detail to interior doors, the Cellini Series combines a special, three-dimensional molding that can be used with CraftMaster raised-panel, 8-foot-tall designs and affixed to the door face by the distributor or door hanger.

Like all Craft Master interior doors, these new products are made from molded, high-density fiberboard to resist shrinking, cracking and joint separation.

Recent reports from the U.S. Census Bureau and NAHB indicate that today’s new homes are substantially larger, often feature four or more bedrooms and are increasingly designed with 9-foot or higher ceilings on the first floor. The elegant style of tall doors on the lower level can be easily matched upstairs to create a consistent design throughout the entire house.

CMI’s Corvado interior door resembles classic Shaker style, which originated in the Northeast. The door’s distinctive groove and modified sticking profile offer the rich feel of a traditional plank door, with added detail.

Named after the Italian sculptor Benvenuto Cellini, who was known for the intricacy and detail of his work, the Cellini Series showcases detailed craftsmanship with raised molding accents and defined panels. The series is available in the modern, two-panel, square-top Carrara® design and the two-panel, true arch top Caiman® design.

“Adding new tall door products to our CraftMaster interior door line helps us meet the trend toward higher ceilings and gives our customers broader options to meet the diverse needs of today’s home owners,” said Bob Merrill, president and CEO of CMI. “Consumers seeking rich, sophisticated designs at an affordable price can turn to the Cellini Series, while the Corvado door has proven to be a popular, versatile design that complements home decors from Southwestern and rustic to contemporary.”
