Sign Up for Estate Planning Seminar at Builders’ Show

The National Housing Endowment, the philanthropic arm of NAHB, is sponsoring an estate planning seminar, “Estate Planning for the Closely Held Business,” at the 2007 International Builders’ Show in Orlando.

Jeffrey Radowich

The seminar, featuring Jeffrey J. Radowich, a partner with the Venable law firm and an expert on taxation, trusts, estates and planned giving, will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9. Michael Graham, of Merrill Lynch and the financial advisor to NAHB and the endowment, will be the moderator.

The seminar will focus on planning techniques for business owners with real estate interests and cover such topics as creating liquidity, ensuring the financial future of the owner's family and more.

“This is a rare opportunity for our members to hear and interact with two experts in estate planning and financial management,” said Gary Garczynski, the chairman of the endowment and 2002 NAHB president. “As business owners consider how to insure the continuity of their legacy and the tax implications of leaving business to their heirs or employees, this seminar will provide invaluable information and contacts.”

The Experts

Radowich has made more than 200 presentations on estate planning, estate administration and business continuity planning topics, including presentations sponsored by the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, National Association of Estate Planning Councils; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Associated General Contractors of America; Sun America Securities; Georgetown University Advanced Estate Planning Institute; Christopher Street Financial; Midwest Estate Tax & Business Planning Institute; Maryland State Bar Association; Maryland, Pennsylvania and Kentucky Associations of Certified Public Accountants; St. Louis and Salt Lake City Estate Planning Councils; Pennsylvania Bar Institute; Baltimore Association of Financial Planners; and Maryland Association of Realtors®.

Graham has been the principal financial advisor to the endowment and NAHB since 1993. At Merrill Lynch, his practice has been primarily dedicated to providing quality investment consulting services to associations, endowments, foundations and retirement plans.

For more information on planned giving and estate planning, visit the Opportunities to Give section of the endowment Web site, www.nationalhousingendowment.org.
