NAHB-Produced Programs on HGTV & DIY This Week

The NAHB Production Group produces four weekly television shows on HGTV and DIY for consumers. The following is this week's lineup:

"I Want That" on HGTV

Episode: "Outdoor Entertaining in Style"

•  April 16, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT
•  April 17, 1:00 a.m. ET/PT

New products bring style, safety and comfort to outdoor events. A stainless-steel charcoal grill looks as good as it cooks. A new valve for gas grills can shut off in case of leaks. Evaporative coolers can make summer parties more comfortable.

"Dream Builders" on HGTV

Episode: "Delaware Beach House"

•  April 16, 9:30 a.m. ET/PT

A chic new house in Rehoboth Beach, Del. features a pair of three-story towers and private decks. A couple in Northern California uses recycled materials in a home style they call "Country Mediterranean." A builder in Maine builds a "mushroom castle" incorporating literary influences from the Brothers Grimm and J.R.R. Tolkien. The 1857 New Orleans home of architect James Gallier, Jr. is restored and opened as a museum. Architect Richard Van Os Keuls flattened approximately 15,000 empty aluminum cans to partially cover his modest ranch house in Silver Spring, Md.

"Rock Solid" on DIY

Episode: "Kitchen Concrete Floor"

• April 20, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT
• April 21, 1:00 a.m. ET/PT
• April 22, Noon ET/PT
• April 23, 7:00 p.m. ET/PT

The stone guys, Dean and Derek, along with experts Jason Thoelke and Brandon Hobbes, of Creative Concrete Solutions, install an acid-etched concrete floor in a kitchen. In the process, they learn the road to concrete can be messy and multi-layered, especially if the demolition of the existing floor is difficult. Through the process, they demonstrate how to properly prepare a sub floor for a concrete overlay, how to mix the ingredients for each level of finish, how to find the right tools to achieve the desired texture and how to stain the floor safely and with even color.

"Assembly Required" on DIY

Episode: "Modular Homes (Part 2)"

• April 12, 10:30 p.m. ET/PT
• April 13, 1:30 a.m. ET/PT
• April 16, 2:00 p.m. ET/PT

Catch an inside look at how modular homes come together and pick back up with the Papadopoulos family as they begin to build their prefab vineyard manor in this second of two episodes. Learn what happens after modular homes leave the factory on flatbed trucks and are delivered to the site. Meet the builders who piece the modules together and the home owners who watch as months of planning begin to take shape.
