Spokesperson Training Still Available for 2006 Spring Board

With the NAHB Spring Board of Directors Meeting in Washington, D.C. less than two months away, one of three Spokesperson Training seminars is still open for participants.

Through Spokesperson Training, participants develop the skills to become more persuasive and effective communicators and are able to handle media interviews and deliver presentations with confidence.

Seminars are led by professional communication consultants, each with more than 30 years of experience training NAHB members on the critical issues they face every day. Spokesperson Training is separated into two difference seminars:

  • “Interview Skills” helps participants master strategies for broadcast and print interviews, including message development.

  • “Presentations Skills” focuses on how to organize and deliver a speech or presentation and handle audience and reporters’ questions.

Each seminar also includes one-on-one on-camera experience.

“Spokesperson Training was one of the best courses I’ve attended in a long time,” said Alison Cox, developer and principal of Brice Group in Gainesville, Fla. “It taught me how not to be intimidated in interview situations and how to get my point across and my message out without feeling backed into a corner.”

Space still is available for "Interview Skills" seminars on Wednesday, May 10, at the spring board meeting. The seminars for May 11 and 12 have waiting lists. More than 15,000 NAHB leaders and members have taked Spokesperson Training since the program began.

To Register

The fees for the Spokesperson Training one-day seminars is $475 per person.

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register, e-mail Niki Clark at NAHB, or call her at 800-368-5242 x8061.

For more information, visit Spokesperson Training on the NAHB Web site. (This link is available to NAHB members only.)
