Big Builders Launch New Television Program
Builder Homesite, a consortium of 35 of the nation's largest home builders, has launched a television show to showcase new home communities and manufacturers’ products. The program, “New Home Lifestyles,” is currently running in Orlando, Fla. and will expand into other markets in coming months.
Rather than simply walking through homes, each half-hour show presents several personal stories of home buying experiences, as well as the business philosophies of builders and how they solve problems for their clients. The program also examines the communities in which featured homes are located and includes specific product information from manufacturers.
"‘New Home Lifestyles' gives Lennar the opportunity to take advantage of the powerful benefits of showcasing our new homes and our company on a television show that is both high quality and high value," said Steve Berenfeld, creative director for Lennar. "Builder Homesite has a proven track record of delivering successful marketing solutions for the whole building industry and we truly believe in their initiatives."
“New Home Lifestyles” is being hosted by Robin Hartl, a popular and nationally recognized home improvement expert and former host of the “Hometime” television show.
While television marketing sounds cost-prohibitive, Michael Maxin, director of business development for Homesite, said that by working together through their consortium the builders involved are actually able to deliver a top-notch program at a reasonable cost.
In addition to television exposure, the content from participating builders will be presented online.
Two-minute segments from builders are featured on the Web site. Among those represented are: Beazer Homes USA, Centex Corporation, KB Home, David Weekley Homes, Lennar and Pulte Homes.
