Army to Privatize Housing at West Point, Three Bases

The U.S. Army is seeking to privatize the development, renovation and management of military family housing at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. and three Army bases — Fort Jackson, S.C., Fort Lee, Va. and Fort Sill, Okla.

The privatization is planned for fiscal years 2006-2007.

The Army, through its Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) program, will conduct a forum for companies interested in participating on Dec. 5-6 in Richmond, Va. The forum is open to developers, financiers, home builders and property managers and will be held at the Sheraton West Hotel.

Privatization details for each facility as well as information about the RCI program, the Request for Qualifications procurement process and an overview of the Army's Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Program will be provided during the forum.

The registration fee is $175. For information and to register, click here on the Military Housing and Lodging Institute Web site (www.mhli.org). Onsite registration is also available at the Sheraton West Hotel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Dec. 5 and 7:00-7:55 a.m. Dec. 6.

A confirmed site tour schedule of participating installations will be provided on the RCI Web site, www.rci.army.mil.

For more information, visit www.rci.army.mil, or call the RCI office at 703-601-2603.
