New Way of Cooking on National Tour

Now through November in a tour stopping at select locations around the country, Whirlpool Corporation is inviting building and design professional to experience a new way of cooking with the manufacturer’s Velos™ Gold SpeedCook Oven, which leverages speedcook and convection technology to substantially reduce cooking times.

Headquartered in Benton Harbor, Mich., Whirpool is a member of the National Council of the Housing Industry — the Supplier 100 of NAHB.

On the tour, trained brand managers of the Velos™ oven will be providing product and cooking demonstrations, along with helpful advice and timesaving tips for housing industry professionals to share with housing consumers.

The new oven’s combination of quartz and halogen light, g2 SpeedCook technology reduces grilling, browning and baking time to a fraction of the time it takes a traditional oven. Additionally, a heating coil provides the option of convection cooking.

Velos is the industry’s largest capacity over-the-range appliance, with an interior cavity measuring two cubic feet. While it provides the conveniences of a regular microwave, added technology allows home owners to do a more precise job of steaming, melting, defrosting and more.

Whirlpool says that its new oven also features the industry’s most efficient ventilation system in a speedcook appliance. It draws away cooktop steam and odors through multiple filters using a five-speed exhaust fan and help’s the home’s overall cooling while improving indoor air quality.
