Little Consolidation Seen in Remodeling Industry

Ohio Remodeler Named Remodelor™ of the Month

Terry Bennett, CGR, CAPS
May Remodelor™ of the Month

Terry Bennett, CGR, CAPS, of Terry Bennett Builders & Remodelers, in Westlake, Ohio, is the NAHB Remodelors™ Council May Remodelor of the Month. Bennett joined NAHB in 1975 and the Remodelors™ Council in 1995.

Bennett is a member of the North Coast Building Industry Association (NCBIA), the Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA) and the OHBA Remodelors™ Council. Seven local Remodelors™ Councils in four states selected him as this month’s Remodelor™ of the Month. “It’s a great distinction to be honored by your peers in the industry, and to have it reflect some of the hard work you’ve done,” Bennett said.

Terry Bennett Builders & Remodelers has been a fixture in the Cleveland area for 29 years, focusing mostly on residential building and remodeling. Bennett has earned the Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designations.

Bennett has served in many leadership roles, including being the first two-term president of the North Coast BIA, chairman of the OHBA Remodelors™ Council and director of OHBA. He is also a leader in his local community.

In addition to donating his “handyman for a day” service to various school charity auctions, Bennett and his employees have helped build six community projects, including wheelchair ramps, recreational park decks and walkways and a playhouse for special needs children

Bennet has been named the North Coast Building Industry Association Remodelor™ of the Year six times since 1996. He was one of Remodeling Magazine’s Big 50 in 1996 and he has been recognized as one of the top 300 remodelers in the country by Qualified Remodeler magazine.

Who Will Be the Next Remodelor™ of the Month?

The Remodelor™ of the Month (this link is accessible to Remodelors™ Council members only) award program is underway. Don't miss your opportunity to be named the Remodelor™ of the Month.
The program groups local councils from different states into designated months. There will be two “wild card” months that will allow the council’s members-at-large to participate in the program. A winner will be chosen each month and that winner will then be automatically included in the nominations for the Remodelor™ of the Year award.
This is a great opportunity for local councils and members to get involved and submit their “best of the best” members to compete with other councils. The national Remodelors™ Council will send out press releases and highlight each winner in ReNews, the Remodelors™ Council e-newsletter.
