Projects will be evaluated by the following criteria:
- Provided a needed service to the community
- Effectively promoted the goal of providing safe, decent, affordable housing or met a defined community need
- Succeeded in motivating NAHB members or company staff to participate
- Had a positive effect on its beneficiaries
- Was creative
- Met project goals
- Is sustainable in subsequent years
The winners will be recognized at the International Builders' Show in Las Vegas in January.
The winning association or member will receive a $5,000 donation to a charity of their choice, a recognition plaque and 450 Home Builders Care water bottles to share with members, volunteers and community members who helped with the project.
