“In the past decade, home builders and land developers have seen a relentless increase in the level of federal environmental regulation of land use, wetlands, water quality, brownfields revitalization, energy conservation and air quality,” said Jerry Howard, executive vice president and CEO of NAHB.
“While several regulations have been nullified by the courts,” Howard said, “the regulatory and legal gridlock has increased costs for builders and led to inefficient protection of our nation’s natural resources. We can do more to achieve progress in these areas with Governor Leavitt’s leadership.”
