“The response to our requests by the members of the HBA has been absolutely overwhelming,” said Tracy Hankins of Hankins Construction, chairman of the Portland Remodelors™ council.
Contributions of materials and remodeling work included: 1,200-1,300 square feet of drywall that was hung, taped and textured; exterior and interior paint; 350 feet of 2.25 colonial casing and base; tile work involved in making the bathroom accessible; 200 square feet of red oak flooring installed and stained to match existing hardwood in the kitchen and dining area; and new windows throughout the house.
In addition, extensive dry-rot repair was completed and a wheelchair ramp was installed.
