Pillars Awards Recognize Excellence

Dedicated to the memory of the late Leon Weiner, the much-beloved past president of NAHB whose work in multifamily housing and fair housing was legendary, the 2003 NAHB Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards recognized multifamily builders, managers and developments for their excellence.

Among the winners of the awards, which were presented on March 24 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, FL, were:

  • Stuart I. Meyers, chairman and CEO of the Cornerstone Group, Coral Gables — The Freddie Mac Builder of the Year
  • Bozzuto Group, Greenbelt, MD; Thomas Bozzuto, president and CEO — the Multifamily Development Firm of the Year
  • The Waverly at Lake Eola, Orlando — the Best Luxury Multifamily Development in a primary market

This year’s competition attracted a record number of entries — nearly 500 in 31 categories, which was a 50% increase over last year.
